Set to be one of the most significant developments to launch in Sydney this year, the leafy themed $500 million development is going even greener, offering dedicated sustainable mobility solutions for the circa 330-unit community.
The initiative is being driven by mobility company, Outbound, as part of an innovative approach to reducing dependency on private car ownership and the environmental impact of resident mobility. A fleet of Tesla vehicles will be located onsite full time with residents able to book and use the cars using the Outbound app. The partnership also includes electric bikes for residents to use from Sydney-headquartered e-bike company Zoomo.
A community day was held at the developmentat The Newlands display suite on Saturday (September 17) with a new Tesla Model Y and a branded e-bike on hand for locals and future residents to experience.
Outbound CEO Luke Rust says dedicated electric mobility solutions in residential developments are the future.
“This is a huge step forward for a Sydney residential project and a huge win for those who’ll eventually be living at The Newlands,” he smiles.
“It’s about improving the amenity value for residents and reducing the impact of the development on our environment. It’s amazing to see passionate and forward-thinking property developers like Top Spring Australia taking the lead in this space and accelerating access to sustainable transportation for residents.”
The Newlands is being developed by Top Spring Australia with a completion date due in mid 2025. It’s the first project to be approved by Lane Cove Council following the rezoning of the St Leonard’s South Precinct.
“We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Outbound, a business that shares our vision for sustainability and providing the best experience for residents of The Newlands……..” said Top Spring Australia’s Managing Director, Sydney Ma.
Other private resident amenities include the “Green Spine” with communal lawn and kids play area, a resort style swimming pool, dog wash facilities and a health and wellness facility featuring an indoor gymnasium, yoga area and infrared sauna.
Construction on Stage 1 of The Newlands is anticipated to commence in early 2023, with completion expected for mid 2025. Both stages are slated for completion in 2025.
